"Back in my days in Oxnard CA I used to come to Reedley CA to pick grapes. In the Afternoon I would get cleaned up and wait for the Uncle Woody Show. We had frozen Kool-Aid Pops and wait for the Three Stooges and Popeye on KBAK Channel 29 in Bakersfield CA. I used to tell my mom when she picked me up to stop at the Uncle Woody Toy shop because he always give away good toys. Every summer I always looked forward to the Uncle Woody Show. I was 12 years old when I started watching him, now I am 51 years old and I am working for him." |

Both from mornings when I was
little, and when I was older. He would laugh and say that
between my Breyer horses and her Madame Alexander dolls, we were
keeping the store open!
It's great to find this page. I
really miss Woody.

Well I remember the Uncle Woody
show, because I was on that show and I remember winning a bunch
of games and toys for saying " Smile God Loves You " at the end
of the show. I had a great time and wish Uncle Woody was still
here in Bakersfield. I wish I could see a picture of me on that
show. Do you plan to run archives if there are any?

Howdy,
I lived next door to you on Evelyn Drive from around 1965-68.
Was friends with your daughters (graduated from high school with
Pam). Came across your website today and my mind came rushing
with memories.
I remember being over at you house with a babysitter and your
daughters making popcorn and catching the kitchen on fire.
I remember thinking I was the luckiest kid in the world to have
the Circus Wagon parked in the driveway next to me.
I remember being on the show hogging up screen time by singing
both the Weinerschnizel and Shakey's jingles.
I remember visiting Toy Circus every weekend and pouring over
every shelf. Here is a photo of the game room of my house to
give you some idea of your influence:
Until coming across your website I hadn't realized what a major
influence all of this had on my life.
After I graduated from West High, I moved to Los Angeles and
eventually became a talent agent for film and Broadway
composers. I also became an obsessive collector of toys, games
and pop culture Americana. A year ago I made a documentary
feature about my life and adventures with my son called FINDING
KRAFTLAND. It is now playing at film festivals all over the

It's remarkable how much of my life has
been shaped by The Uncle Woody Show. I was on your show several
times as a kid. I was part of your Clown College for the Bakersfield
Christmas parade. In fact, I got into trouble at school because I
wanted to be a clown more than I wanted to march with my Jr. High
school band. Because of my participation with your show, I chose
broadcasting as my career and my first TV job was for KBAK TV right
across the street from the Toy Circus, and I had the pleasure of
directing your TV commercials. Heck, my ex-wife even worked for you
during one Christmas season. I currently direct videos for Kern
County Government Television and I work on my own independent film
and video projects. It's safe to say that the Uncle Woody Show
